The Band

Passive input was formed in May 2007 when four mates from JHQ decided to form a rock band. The band is influenced by a wide range of bands from different styles of rock music, ranging from heavy metal to post hardcore, and bands such as Stone sour, Rise against and Nickelback.

All the members of Passive Input want to see the band go far, and judging on the response their music has had so far it might just happen...

Bass: Dan Coultas
19.11.1989

Dan has played bass since the age of 15, he's self taught and enjoys writing songs as well as just rocking out. Dan's musical influences include Iron Maiden, Motorhead, ACDC, After Forever and Slayer, as well as punk bands such as the Sex Pistols and the Towers of London. Dan formally played in punk band 'The Oppression' but moved to Passive Input in 2007 to play in a metal band. Dan uses a standard Yamaha 4 string bass and a Johnson 5 string, he soon hopes to buy the Dean Rhapsody 12. Outside of the band, Dan enjoys watching sport, in particular following local German football team Borussia Monchengladbach.

Dan's musical secret: He's fuelled by Jagermeister!

Vocals: Andy Harvie
18.08.1990

Andy is the lead singer of Passive Input, as well as a guitarist. Andy has a wide range of influences including under oath, city and colour and Alexisonfire, he can sing in a variety of different styles. Andy played briefly in 'The Opression' alongside Dan in spring 2007 before Passive Input was formed.

Andy's Musical secret: He gets through his nerves by playing the fool (his words, not ours), and he does it well!

Drums: Daryl Aitken
01.10.1989

Daryl is the beat of the band, and takes great pride in polishing his drum kit and being Scottish. He's been playing the drums for 3 years, he was formally in 'foot high in guilt' and currently endorses magnum drum kits. He is inspired by Bullet for my valentine and Nickelback. Despite what he's told, Daryl insists that he doesn't play the drums just so he can have sex. Another of Daryl's contributions to the band is his cellar, which has how been turned into their HQ.

Daryl's musical secret: He bangs them hard and fast.

Guitar: Tom Aylett
22.08.1990

Tom played both electric and acoustic guitar for Passive Input. His influence include rise against. Tom is often accused of being the Emo of the band, although the amount of jumping around he does on stage would seem to disprove this. Tom lives in the boarding house, which sucks, but he enjoys playing practical jokes on other boarders in his spare time.

Tom's Musical secret: He caught every pokemon!
